'Damini' : Delhi braveheart

Delhi's courageous Braveheart summoned her last breath to identify the perpetrators so they don't go unpunished. Now her spirit lives on forcing a nation to  confront its demons collectively. 'Damini' will RIP only when there are no future rape victims in India.

Pray For Newtown Families

All of us are deeply saddened by the turn of events that plunged the Newtown families into shock and despair. How can one not feel for the parents of those innocent children who are left to carry their most precious gifts in tiny caskets for burial this joyous season?

I hope all of us will also agree that we need to find a way to improve care for the mentally challenged in this country. I truly believe the civic stature of a society is determined by the compassion and care it shows for its mentally vulnerable. No society can consider itself truly evolved while it tolerates indifference toward the mentally handicapped.

The Author Seen Here With HRH The Prince Of Wales At A British Asian Trust Event At The Windsor Castle Earlier This Year

Child Sex Abuse is receiving enormous attention in India. The leading Indian filmmaker, Aamir Khan, has vividly portrayed the plight of abused children through his recently concluded TV series 'Sataymev Jayte' (Truth Alone Prevails). I commend the work of British Asian Trust in tackling the girl abuse and exploitation throughout South Asia.

I am proud of my association with the leadership of British Asian Trust which, under the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales, is doing defining work in reaching out to the vulnerable and at-risk girls. American India Foundation (www.aif.org) and BAT are collaborating on several projects that aim to improve livelihood opportunities, through skill upgrades, among marginalized girls and women in India.

Bulbul Bahuguna - "The Ghosts That Come Between Us"

Hello Everyone, I am here to tell something about my book"The Ghost That Come Between Us".

Its a strong story of a girl name 'Nargis'. While the book recounts delightful memories of childhood in the sixties and colorful anecdotes of family travels through young urban and feudal rural India,The book in the main is about Nargis's struggle to escape the confusing relationship with her father, Brigadier Yadav, and forgo the special status she thrived in and enjoyed growing up.Nargis's journey combines thedaring straight forwardness of innocent childhood with the poetic eloquence of an adult engaged in hazy reflection
